Joanne Haner | Portfolio

Hi! I'm Joanne Haner.
I'm a news journalist based in the Washington DC-metro area.

Currently, I'm an intern with the Race & Culture Unit at ABC News, where I report and produce original stories.

I previously worked at The Hill, where I covered breaking news and the intersection of Florida and national politics in the 2024 election. I've also worked at the Miami Herald covering local government, OpenSecrets and the Pew Research Center's Race & Ethnicity team.

I graduated from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in 2024 with double majors in journalism and data science and a certificate in Integrated Marketing Communications. I was very involved with our student paper, The Daily Northwestern, where I served as managing editor and helped start our data visualizations team.

I'm also a proud member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. Hablo español.
