Joanne Haner | Portfolio
Hi! I'm Joanne Haner.

I'm a news journalist and researcher based in the Washington DC-metro area.
Currently, I'm a research assistant with the Pew Research Center's News & Information Team. I've also worked with the Center as a part of their Race & Ethnicity team back during the summer of 2023 as an intern.
I previously worked at ABC News' Washington DC Bureau, where I covered breaking news and worked with the Race & Culture Unit to speak to voices from marginalized communities. I've also worked at the Miami Herald covering local government, as well as OpenSecrets and The Hill.
I graduated from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in 2024 with double majors in journalism and data science and a certificate in Integrated Marketing Communications. I was very involved with our student paper, The Daily Northwestern, where I served as managing editor and helped start our data visualizations team.
I'm also a proud member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. Hablo español.
Welcome to my website! Please enjoy my work, add me on socials and feel free to reach out with tips, questions or just to say hi.
